Question time! Post your favorite and a brief description of why it's your favorite.

I saw an article the other day that had a comparison of a bunch of vehicles and, like they always do, they added up all of the stats of the cars. One of the stats listed was that there were 99 cylinders as part of the competition. I started thinking about it and it dawned on me that there had to be at least 1 vehicle with an odd number of cylinders. Then I started thinking about all of the cars that had odd number of cylinder engines, a few came to mind but not many.

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to see what everyone came up with as their favorite. I took the easy one, sorry if this is your favorite too. This is completely subjective and can be any kind of vehicle, not limited to cars and trucks. A few words on why it's your favorite can't hurt either.

Porsche 919. For a car with that much power the number of cylinders in the engine sure is odd.

Same as you. First time I saw rally on TV, there was an Audi Quattro ripping up the stage. I was like "What is that weird sound!?? My god it's an amazing alien sound!". And I was hooked on 5 cyls ever since.

Everybody is going to say Volvo 850, which is a great answer, 7-passenger luxury and prestige with amazing performance and fun and safety.

There are so many good answers though. I really like the first-gen TL and the Vigor that came before it.

The Geo Metro is another awesome choice, and you could even get a convertible! A cool 50-mpg convertible or hatchback available in really cool colors is hard to hate.

The best BMW of all time is the Isetta. Cute, fun, and it has a canvas sunroof.

999cc Turbo/intercooled 3 with about 80 blazing horsepower. It also weighed about as much as a large sandwich or a small cat. Fun to absolutely abuse. A friend in college had a gray one with gray hubcaps. It was amazingly bad and wonderful at the same time.

Ha. Apparently they made an experimental 3 cylinder at one time. (according to Wiki, which could definitely be wrong.)

Wright/Continental R-975 engine (9 cyl.). Not to be that guy, but not a tank. It is a tank destroyer. It could go almost 60mph if they really pushed it. It was rather effective against tanks like the Panther because of it's maneuverability. That's the Hellcat by Buick.

1985 Audi Coupé. My third ever car and the only five cylinder I've driven. It had a habit of occasionally becoming a four when a plug went on strike.

When I was in college, my older brother had an early/mid 90s AWD 2-door Subaru Justy (3 cyl) that was a lot of fun. It weighed so little that the low power didn't matter. It was like a go-cart, and about as much fun, too. The wheel base was so short that it was surprisingly capable off-pavement (east coast powerline access roads were our test track), as there was almost no center on which to high-center, so clearance wasn't really an issue even with the little pizza cutter wheels. It died an untimely death as one of about 8 or more cars making up the filling in a pile-up sandwich on a plate of black ice one Seattle morning, but my brother walked away without a scratch.
